DraculaClothing

DraculaClothing

I started DraculaClothing in 2007, the idea came when we where walking around in Camden trying to shop for clothing, but failing since all the shops carried the same brands and I didn't like the quality or the price of the few things we found.

A few years earlier I traveled around in India by myself for a few months, I was planning to be a monk in Tibet, but ended up buying lots of tailor made suits, a carpet and seeing India instead. The suits I bought is the best quality I have ever seen, they still look new almost ten years after I bought them, and I have occasionally fallen asleep wearing one of them.

My goal was to produce high quality clothing at a reasonable price and design a lot myself, I must admit it was just a fun project that I had no big plans for, and in the beginning I knew half the people that bought anything in the shop. The name DraculaClothing was the first name I thought of, although I said it mostly as a joke, but I guess it is easy to remember and I do like the image of an aristocrat vampire dressed alternatively, but with a sense of class that you can only acquire by living a few hundred years.

Ida started running DraculaClothing with me after a while and when we began selling corsets things started to explode, we went from having 50 daily visitors to 1500-2000 daily visitors in 2 years, we have 42.000 fans on Facebook and sell to almost 100 shops around the world. DraculaClothing has recently gotten its own home in Prague, a 110 sqm Photostudio, storage, office and showroom that still needs a lot of work, but I think it will be really nice when we are done with it. Feel free to visit us there if you are in Prague.

Lately I have been designing a lot of steampunk watches and jewelry, and we are working on creating our own clothing line again, I want to have a big collection of steampunk clothing available in the shop. We have two employees that take care of answering your mails and sending out orders, and I hope I can have more time designing, photographing and other projects like this magazine.
