They say rain is the typical festival weather. The last years, Castle Party has mostly been spared of this, but this time the weather had it in for us all.

What's worse than rain and people in beautiful clothing? Rain, bautiful clothing and WIND. It was so windy, umbrellas broke en masse, and everywhere you could see garbage bins filled up with umbrella remains.

So it didn't come as a very big surprise when day one was completely cancelled due to heavy wind. Very sad, but not very surprising.

Luckily the weather behaved well for the rest of the festival, and we ended up having a good time.

Polish people are incredibly social and kind, and we met a lot of lovely people this year, both old friends and new acquaintances. This must be the friendliest alternative festival ever!

I always wonder what the inhabitants of Bolkow think of the festival, I mean we're really taking over the whole town! There's a lot of staring going on, but do they think it's funny and interesting, or just weird and noisy? Maybe a bit of both. There's atleast no questioning that this is a big change from everyday life in the tiny town of Bolkow.

With our background and interest in fashion, we always like to focus on the outfits we see at festivals, instead of the bands. So many magazines cover the bands already, and lets face it, most of us prefer looking at pictures of beautiful festival attendants rather than bands!

CastleParty is sure a big

CastleParty is sure a big change from everyday in Bolkow. To some people it's probably noisy and weird, but most people have already grown accustomed to it, since it's been taking place there for 14 years now. Well, I can tell you, those people who run restaurants, bars, pubs, shops and rent rooms/flats sure wouldn't be happy if the festival got cancelled or moved to another location. In the end in about a week they earn more than they usually do in a month! ;)
