I have gotten a lot of questions lately about photography, equipment and what settings you should use in different situations, so I decided to write a beginners guide to photography. I have also met a lot of people that call themselves photographers that don't know the basic settings of their camera.

I normally shoot in raw, this way I can leave the white balance on auto most of the time.

24mm 1,4

Purpose of lense:

Nikon 24mm 1,4 is a low light master, also great for nature photography and situations where you need to be close to the subject, like street photography or pictures at festivals. My first choice when I take pictures at festivals like WGT or Castle Party.

Not For:

Concerts unless you have another lens and have time to change between them.

1,4 depth of field

All pictures are taken on a tripod with the first watch in focus, the ISO is constant at 800 and the shutter speed is varied to keep the pictures similar.

At an F-value of 1,4 the second watch is out of focus and the third is a blurry haze. The shutter speed here is 1/320
